The FIDO Alliance (also known as fast identity online) stated on Thursday that they are working on a new "common passwordless sign-in standard" alongside Apple, Microsoft, and Google.

According to FIDO, managing several passwords is tough for consumers, especially since using the same password across multiple accounts could result in disastrous consequences

Microsoft, Apple, and Google have all confirmed that the system is in development for their own browsers.
