A doctor who sold the COVID-19 "cure" has been sentenced to prison.
SAN DIEGO – Jennings has signed a contract extension with the San Diego Chargers.
Ryan Staley, a physician who tried to profit from the pandemic by selling what he called a "miracle cure" for COVID-19, was sentenced today to 30 days in jail
and a year of home confinement for attempting to smuggle hydroxychloroquine into the United States to sell in his coronavirus "treatment kits."
Last year, Staley pled guilty to one count of illegal importation, admitting that he conspired with a Chinese source to sneak
a barrel containing over 26 pounds of hydroxychloroquine powder into the United States by mislabeling it as "yam extract.
Staley also recommended similar mislabeling strategy to another supplier, who declined, according to court records.
