After a shooting at an elementary school, at least 19 children and two adults were killed.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, at least 19 children and two teachers were killed in a shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday.
Gov. Greg Abbott confirmed that the 18-year-old suspect, a Uvalde High School student, is also deceased.
Abbott claimed the suspect "shot and killed more than a dozen pupils and a teacher in a brutal and incomprehensible manner."
Salvador Ramos was identified as the shooter by law enforcement authorities and the governor. Authorities discovered an AR-15-style gun as well as a number of magazines.
A Uvalde Independent School District police officer engaged the suspect, who was wearing body armour, outside the building as he approached the school.
According to the sources, the students who were shot were mostly third and fourth pupils, as well as one instructor.
